May
When you think of art and cruising you probably just think of those champagne art auctions onboard, or visiting museums at the different ports of call. While those are still options there are some new and exciting options that allow you to get a more hands on experience with art during your cruise.
Have you ever thought how amazing it might be to actually paint along the Seine? Or walk through Monet’s stunning gardens? Maybe you would like to paint while in the middle of a vineyard in France or on the castle grounds in Germany. Now you can do all of that while on a river cruise! Avalon Waterways is offering Active Discovery cruises where they are adding so much more than the typical river cruise options to give guests more to do at each stop. If you think river cruising just means boring walking tours of old churches and old town centers think again. The Active discovery options include things like biking along the river or even kayaking in the river and painting along the river! They are also offering art specific cruises that really focus on some of the great artists in Europe and where they painted. These include special guests lectures and exclusive guided tours.
If you are more of a hobbyist and just like the idea of being able to do some casual art during a sea day of your cruise then maybe an Oceania cruise would be a good choice. They offer an artist loft onboard that is art studio that offers free classes during your cruise. Sometimes they even feature well known artist onboard that teach the classes. Oceania also has some impressive art collections decorating their ships. There is even a guided tour onboard to walk you through all the art onboard. I always enjoy checking out all of the art on any cruise I take and now I am looking forward to taking that to the next level and actually creating some art while I cruise!

April
Since April is Autism Awareness Month it seemed like the prefect time to talk about a new link on our site. It is listed under the cruises tab - Autism Cruises. The organization is Autism on the Seas. They cater to all special needs and have highly qualified staff cruises that provide a wide range of helpful services onboard select cruises. We have partnered with them so that we can offer everyone the opportunity to take advantage of their services. We know it can be very stressful to travel with someone that has special needs and that is why we love that we could partner with such a great organization that also believes in our philosophy of making travel as stress free as possible. We would be happy to help you find a cruise offered by Autism on the Seas that would work for your travel party. Also for all bookings made in the month of April we will be donating a portion to OAR (Organization for Autism Research).

March
This month's feature is on Emerald Waterways
A river cruise really is one of the most elegant and worry free ways to travel. There are a lot of River Cruise options out there, but Emerald Waterways is one you might not have heard of before. They are a part of the Scenic group which has been in business since 1986.
You might think all river cruise ships are the same but they are not. Emerald’s ships were custom built and the oldest ones are from 2014. They offer a unique option which is a heated pool that converts into a cinema at night. Emerald offers a truly all inclusive package with the cruise, transfers, shore tours, tips, wi-fi, bikes onboard, meals and drinks (beer and wine with lunch and dinner), and gratuities are all included in the up front price you pay. They offer European River Cruises ranging from 8 to 17 days. They offer Emerald PLUS experiences which go way beyond the standard tourist offerings to a richer more authentic experience of local European culture. One example is a home hosted afternoon tea with a local family. These are included in your cruise price! For those that like to be active on vacation they also offer EmeraldACTIVE these are also complementary and include hiking and biking tours that allow you to see some hidden gems.
Right now Emerald is offering an A+ deal! When you book an A Category stateroom on an 8 day European river cruise in 2018 you can save $1300 per person or get free airfare! Contact us for more details!
